"Nachdenken Uber Christa T." was banned in East Germany ina year in which the Western world was exuberantly practing its freedom 4/5(2). I have found The Quest for Christa T a difficult book to review, it’s a delicately nuanced, complex novel, and the writing is very beautiful.

The Quest for Christa T reminded me a lot of Virginia Woolf’s Jacob’s Room, but where that exercise in piecing together a life flows in beautiful, poetic sentences, like the coming in and going out of tides, there is no similar beauty in Wolf’s writing.

It is beautiful, but in a different way – a stark, disjointed, abstract way. The quest for Christa T. by Wolf, Christa. Publication date Publisher New York: Dell Notes. The back cover is corrupt in the original book.
